We bring our vast experience to the world of offshore renewables through the design and manufacture of modular buoyancy systems, specialist fenders and mooring solutions to meet the needs of this fast-moving and emerging sector.
Renewables
We are already engaged in the design and manufacture of modular buoyancy systems, specialist fenders and mooring solutions to meet the needs of this fast-moving and important sector. Our logistical support to specialist contractors is already making a real contribution to the future of the world's energy supply.
Wave and tidal energy
Fendercare Marine is at the forefront of developments in wave and tidal
energy systems. Working closely with the majority of system developers
and installation contractors, we offer a broad range of services and products aimed specifically at easing the process of progressing from concept and design stage, through scale testing, to full scale deployment. With nearly a quarter of a century working in the oil and gas sector, we offer a wealth of knowledge and experience.
The following areas in particular are currently being utilised, from the
smallest device developer through to the largest most established systems.
- Buoyancy – specialist bespoke systems incorporated within the device as well as deployment systems
- Fendering – providing specialist bespoke systems incorporated within the device and unique standoff requirements during transportation, installation and deployment
- Mooring systems – bespoke system design, analysis and supply
- Logistical support – from device transportation to equipment supply solutions
- Agency services – with our vast experience in this sector we are able to manage and ease the processes
Lyness base
Located at the heart of the world’s wave and tidal industry, our new
service and support base at Lyness Harbour in the Orkney Islands, is ideally positioned to help improve the processes of build, installation (including full multi device or array) and test, as well as ongoing maintenance.
Full project management including:
- All services – from consent through to deployment
- Ongoing emergency response and maintenance
- Full operating procedures and method statements
- 10,000m2 of set down and build area
- Sea-to-shore lift facilities and load out capability
- Secure lay-down and pre-assembly areas
- Stevedores, ropemen and general labour supply
- Full project management facilities and labour support facilities
- Dry area, kitchens, etc.
Offshore wind
For the offshore wind sector we provide complete supply chain support and
comprehensive diving and associated support services. We have also been
actively involved in designing and supplying bespoke fendering systems for many wind farm support catamarans.
We currently work with, and supply the majority of access vessel designers
and manufacturers based throughout Europe and Scandinavia. Although the fundamental purpose of all these vessels is very similar, each vessel design has its own characteristics and therefore requires its own individual solution.
Fendercare Marine is also working with both turbine foundation and
workboat manufacturers to increase the size of the ‘weather window’
that contractors can work in, by developing an ‘Intelligent’ fender system.
This will allow the use of existing vessel designs in higher sea states and
deeper waters.
- Full diving and support services
- Port infrastructure and improvement works – consultancy and fendering/standoff solutions
- Deck and quayside product supply including bollards, chocks, fairleads and Smit brackets
- Supply chain solutions including vessel consumables, surface and sub-surface buoyancy and specialist fendering
- Cable laying equipment hire – spoolers, winches and protection systems
